Delta and I are extremely excited about tomorrows teen girl bible study! Well.... we are excited because we have just ordered some NEW BIBLE study materials that where created for the Urban Youth. WE are using Tasty Faith. In 2001, TastyFaith.com was founded to help urban youth leaders create a craving for Christ with high-risk and disadvantaged city youth. Since curriculum and resources for urban youth outreach are scarce, a volunteer urban youth worker in Chicago donated her time and talent to create lessons that were culturally relevant to city youth. These lessons were first used at an outreach program in Chicago's Cabrini Green Projects called SLAM. While the outreach program went through several transitions and stopped using the curriculum, the SLAM! lessons for urban outreach continued to be developed, meeting a greater need nationwide.
As far as the name goes,TastyFaith is a memorable way to remind us all to crate a craving for Christ in those we minister to...and that's exactly what D and I are hoping will happen with these girls. The first curriculum we will try out is Slam! 2 Teen Handbook entitled Da Yum Yums & Dum Dums .The 10 lessons in this workbook cover tasty scripture and the consequences of dumb sin.
Sometime in the future, we talked about beginning a separate one on one time ( these girls would still continue meeting with the group) with two of the girls that just had babies. What's exciting about this study is the content. The name of this book is called Life After Birth. Life After Birth is great for one-on-one mentoring as well as outreach programs for non-churched teen mothers of all backgrounds.

I am telling you, the LORD is something else!! I am just amazed how HE has really went before us and provided all that we NEED and all that these girls would NEED to know who is IS!!! My prayer is that these girls would realized that because they were worth dying for, HE IS SO MUCH MORE WORTH LIVING FOR (thanks Tripp Lee :)
Delta and I are so humbled that the LORD would want to use us, I mean really, we are so not worthy of this calling....
