The Fight Of My Life

Social Injustice :Social Injustice' is a concept relating to the perceived unfairness or injustice of a society in its divisions of rewards and burdens...

Racism: Racism, by its simplest definition, is the belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race. People with racist beliefs might hate certain groups of people according to their racial groups. In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment

For the past month almost the LORD has brought me to deeply study the topics at hand. It has been the most depressing, hurtful, anger filled study I have ever done... I still would not say I have completely grasp social injustice or Racism in its totality. I have become so much more sensitive to some of the injustices/Racism that happens to me or others around me.

Do you know what it feels to be treated a certain type of way by your OBGYN just because you are young, black, and on Medicaid??
DO you know what it feels like to go grocery shopping with your kids to have someone speak to your little one, then turn around and ask you where is her daddy?? AS if all black women you see with no man with them is a non married??
Do you know what it's like to go out and see members of your congregation not speak to you, but look you dead in the eye as if you are not there??
Do you know what it's like to be 43 weeks over due with your first child but be treated unjustly because you are a young pregnant teen who they think should not be having babies in the first place..so they treat you very different then their other soon to be moms because ONE you are afraid to speak up for yourself, TWO you need their services offered to you.
DO you know what its like to have to stop and wash your hands in public restroom in 2007 and be told that you have to use the one outside, after you just witnessed a white use that same restroom??
Do you know what it's like to witness the neighborhoods on the wealthy side of town have their electricity restored FASTER than the hood you live in??? ( and this is after you have called and informed the power company many times!!!!!!)
Do you know what it's like to not have clean water because of where you live??

I am not sure what the LORD wants me to do with all this, but I am sure that Kevin and I are called to speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute...we need discernment, wisdom and humility upon doing so. The anger my husband and I have is righteous, it's what we believe CHRIST spoke out against during his time, and we believe ALL believers should have the same heart. Those in our hood and outside are in need of Advocates...please pray that LORD show us how to be just that

“It is not enough for the Church to be engaged with the State in healing social ills, though this is important at times. But when the world can turn around and see a group of God’s people exhibiting substantial healing in the area of human relationships in their present life, then the world will take notice. Each groups of Christians is, as it were, a pilot plant, showing that something can be done in the present situation, if only we begin in the right way.” ~ Francis Schaeffer, The God who is There

Psalm 146:7
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets prisoners free,

Psalm 41:1
How blessed is he who considers the helpless;
The LORD will deliver him in a day of trouble.

Proverb 21:13
If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor,
he too will cry out and not be answered.
