He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, he lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves those who live justly. The LORD watches over the immigrant and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. -Psalm 146:7-9

Notes From 1 & 2 Peter Study

What role does trial play in Christian faith?
Christians are "exiles" on mission for Jesus in a world that is not their home. Subsequently, their life is filled with trial, God uses trial for much good in us and through us.

Prinicipal # 1- Our life is a trial.
-1 peter 1:6-7
-1 Peter 4:12
-1 Peter 2:9

Principal #2- We are to live in the light of God's judgement trial at the end.
-1 Peter 1:17
-1 Peter 4:5

Principal #3- Like Jesus, we are to live in worship to God and witness to others in the midst of trial.
- 1 Peter 2:23

Principal #4- Trial in life is a purposeful opportunity for our sanctification, worship, and witness to God's glory and our joy

-1 Peter 1:2
- 1Peter 1:6-8
-1 Peter 2:12
- 1 Peter 3:15-16
-1 Peter 4:13
- 1 Peter 5:10
- 2 Peter 1:3
- 2 Peter 3:18

Every trial is either from God's hand or through God's hand. Thus, if we embrace trials as an oppurtunity from God, they can and do result in his glory and our good.

Jesus what a blessing it is to partake in your sufferings..TO have just a small taste of what it feels like to suffer for the sake of the Kingdom. We are faced with trials coming from many fronts here in the hood. I pray that we dont waste our sufferings, and trials through complaining, but that I embrace them, knowing that they help me to see you face to face, and that you are using them to conform me into the image of your precious son. I pray for believers everywhere, that their faith would be proven genuine as they are tried in life's fiery furnace of love. May we all remember the words and instruction you have left for us in 1 Peter which says
: And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Pray you all have a thankful weekend!
