Then Sings My Soul Saturdays- Love Justice

He has shown all you people what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

I am in the beautiful city of Cincinnati attending the CCDA Conference. One of the many highlights for me is the music. Every year we have the privilege of a special multi -racial band leading us into worship. That band is Foster. Foster began as a response to a deep history of cultural and racial division in the present world, and a lack of social action among people of faith. As it unifies people through music, Foster seeks to inspire people to be godly instruments of love and peace in a world of poverty, sickness, and injustice.

There is one song in particular that I cant wait to hear and that is... Love Justice. Love Justice was written by Brian Wu and Matt Lundgren. They are half of Foster. From what I have heard and read.. They have a desire to awaken the church to compassion, mercy and justice. Love Justice is just one example of how they hope to inspire people to be agents of social change.Foster aspires to be bridge builders in areas of culture and racial division. Their music reflects this aspiration in the multi-cultural approach of their EP, A World that Barely Breathes. They hope to inspire people to broaden their worship language. To increase their God vocabulary. And to inspire us to not just engage in a moment of worship but to live our lives as worship.

My knees shake at the sound of this song and my soul cries out for justice for this wicked and perverse generation. Here is the mp3 link to the song if you want to listen. May I suggest before you do..... take some time and meditate and pray through the lyrics.

Oh, how powerful they are!!!

Love Justice Lyrics:

Take our lives Lord
Take our moments and our days..
We offer them to You, we offer them in ceaseless praise

Take our hands Lord
Take our feet and let them be
A sacrifice to You...A sacrifice for those in need..

Take our Love Lord
Take our silver take our gold
And we pray to see...your Kingdom in this world

Chorus
We will love justice, show mercy, walk humbly with our God
