The Invasion(Hero) Trip Lee-Between Two Worlds

"...We need a hero to go in, cause our solutions don't win Education can't fix it, more dough just leads to more sin Medicine is temporary, government seems so thin With all these weighty problems, that ain't shrinking they just growing Who's adequate to save us, how about He knew no sin?"

I received in the mail yesterday Reach Record artist Trip Lee newly awaited third album, Between Two Worlds. According to Trip Lee, this album is “devoted to helping people see life in a broken world properly (the way God sees it). It’s meant to celebrate the good things, be real about the difficult things, and look hopefully toward the solution.” This album hits me on so many fronts. Trip talks about such a wide range of topics, from not focusing on the temporary but instead focusing on the eternal, to lust, idolatry, one's view on life, his love for music, along with many more that I will share with you at a later time. I plan on going through each song one by one in different post beginning with this one. The Invasion(Hero).

I heard this song when it was first released and to be honest I really didn't pay it any attention. Until I found myself in my current situation and begin to see things from a totally different perspective. We are so entangled in the lives of those around us. It hurts to see kids suffer from the decisions of their parental guardian and to know that you have no control over what happens to them or how they are affected by their situation. I have been crying my heart out to God all week asking Him to change things and praying that He is glorified above all. I was talking to a friend the other day and we began to dialog about what it means for God to be a Father to the fatherless, as well as what it means for us,the body of Christ to love on those who are poor without hurting them and ourselves. One of the things that she reminded me of that has been ringing in my head all week, well, two things..#1-God loves them more then I ever could.

I could never love any abused, neglected, abandoned child more than the Lord. He promises to defend them, He is their shelter, their refuge, their strength. I am not saying that I don't serve or help, I am just saying I am not all knowing and cant control the situation. #2- The goal in loving, and serving the poor, the orphan, the abandoned is not to give them a big house to live in, nice beds of their own, clean clothes, money in their pockets, great education, promising future, you know the "American dream" you see in all the sappy christian films today or better yet, what you see and read about many famous celebrities doing....though all that is good, I'm not knocking it at all, fully, I'm just saying there is more to it than that.. the goal my friends is the GOSPEL. Which brings me to Trip Lee's song.

The Hood (and burbs for that matter) needs a Hero. Christ is that Hero. The bible clearly states that this Hero has already saved the day and will one day return for those of us who belong to Him:

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Colossians 2:13-15)

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18:
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

This song speaks exactly what I am feeling..burdensome for the creation, heavy with all the brokenness around me,feeling like you cant keep ya head above waters because of all of hopelessness that surrounds you. Then you remember that Hero, the ONE who promises to return to make all things new. Trip does a wonderful job with pointing you to Christ and the hope of the Gospel message.
I wrestle to tonight to let go of a situation that I have no control over. To let get of three little girls whom the Lord has not placed me over. My heat breaks for these girls( and their mom) who have very much become apart of our family. Yet, I pray, with much zeal, love and brokenness that their hearts would become regenerated and that one day..one day they too would await the day for their Hero's return.

Please take the time to listen to Trip's song:(lyrics below)

Lyrics:
Creation's groaning, lost their hope and feel they always closed in Lots to cope with, on the ropes, wish they was in the open This broken world is so dim, our souls are searching, groping For one with hope to hold us close, and set goodness in motion I remember growing up in Dallas, I thought me and my close kin Was more than straight, our folks was great ,not broke that paper flowed in Not boasting man, just saying in my brain I didn't know then That all went wrong, and it just can't go right like a broke pen My mind was blind and cloaked in, but then that foolishness departed I saw this thing's an ocean, and we just tryna swim real far but But can't nobody float when we ain't got boats or no fins We need a hero to go in, cause our solutions don't win Education can't fix it, more dough just leads to more sin Medicine is temporary, government seems so thin With all these weighty problems, that ain't shrinking they just growing Who's adequate to save us, how about He knew no sin?

Hook:Like a G5 yeah you rushed to rescue me Took a cross in exchange for a throne to save me You began the work and I know you'll finish And make all things right when you come back Cause you're my hero, you already saved the day Cause you're my hero, and I know you're coming back for me

Verse 2:
Follow the steps bro, Adam sinned now we all dead so We gotta sentence on our head like death row, everything is wrecked All creation is a mess bro, In the fullness of time, in steps the hero no red cloak, He's Jesus No flashing lights, glitz n glam, and no cameras He came to serve needy folks, and point them to the answer You see Him healing, feeding folks, and telling them the standard Our most basic need is to be ransomed by Jesus It has first place, yeah we separated in the worst ways Even physically peep how the earth quakes Separated socially, murder and the worst rapes Even separated from ourselves, we in the worst state It's so major, that's the reason that we need a Savior Cause the root of needs is separation from Creator Jesus came humbly to restore us to our maker And later He'll restore all that He made bruh, He's Jesus

Verse 3:
God is not pleased man, it's clear that His standards missed The world is running rampant with, sin it's an abandonment Man is feeling stranded, feeling hopeless since his banishment God is angry at the distortion and the mismanagement Evil is at work, but don't be thinking He can't handle it He promised He would do away with all of it, dismantle it He's put up with this damage in His world, but He's promised us That He'll destroy all His enemies and then He'll walk with us New Heaven, new Earth that's where all His sheep dwell Cause Jesus succeeded in every part of life that we failed Died the death we couldn't die, paid our price with 3 nails Began the work He promised, in the end we all will be well Already beat our enemies and when His Kingdom's realized All those who oppose Him will see Jesus with some real eyes Deliverance is offered us, the hero He is urging us Salvation is exclusive to His people who have turned to trust
