He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, he lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves those who live justly. The LORD watches over the immigrant and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. -Psalm 146:7-9

Hello out there!
How was your summer? Mine was quite an adventure. I think this was by far the busiest summer we have ever had. Our kids participated in so many fun/ developmental activities. From sewing, to architecture, to archery, to video production, to gymnastics to cheer leading. To top it off, they also did a little academics this summer to keep that school brain going.  More kids in our program this summer, 87 to be exact. More little hearts to reach for the gospel, more attitude from girls 5 going on 30. (lol) In all it was a blast! I always look forward to the summer, it brings so many fun, and AWE inspiring memories. The best part, is seeing smiles on the faces of kids who look forward to camping every year....

Many came hungry for God. I'm not talking about a youth revival, where 20 kids come up to receive Christ because its just the thing to do in that moment. I'm talking about kids who are interested in Christ, who HE is, How they can live for Him and how they can share His love with others. Our middle school kids were impacted the most this summer. During our summer camp, God drew 5 small hearts to Himself. One kid tells me, "Mrs Nicole, I cant wait till we meet tonight for devotions, I just like to sit and listen to Gods word being read, I just want to know more about what God is saying, thats my favorite part of camp." I learned so much from these kids this summer. God convicted and humbled me through the things He was doing in their lives. Many of them really took the time and pondered what it would meant to follow Jesus, I'm so glad it ended with salvation!

So, what's next for us?? VACATION! Our staff is breaking from such a busy summer to take time away with family and REST!! I'm so thankful that such a word exist. I'm very HOPEFUL tonight as my mind ponders how God answered my prayers by showing up in the lives of our kids and revealing Himself to them.  Our after school program begins at the end of this month, through the grace of God and the hands of His people, we have many great things in store for our kiddios. Until then, enjoy the last couple of weeks of summer. I'll be back after vacation.
Have a restful Sabbath!

Perfected for all Time

For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified -Heb. 10:14

My Father,
What you have done for me is nearly beyond belief! You have made me- a hopeless, rebellious, unbelieving sinner- absolutely and eternally perfect. By your sacrifice you've assured me that any sacrifice for sin that needed to be made has been made, and all I have to do is believe that your blood really is that valuable. Thank you for forgiving me especially when I dishonor you by thinking that my meager, miserable, pride-driven sacrifices would somehow appease your great wrath at sin. You've made me perfect, and you're perfecting me. Thank you, Lord. I believe!!

My Prayer For Today

Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All

Jesus, my Lord, my God, my All,
Hear me, blest Savior, when I call;
Hear me, and from Thy dwelling place
Pour down the riches of Thy grace;
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
O make me love Thee more and more.
Jesus, too late I Thee have sought;
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And how extol Thy matchless fame,
The glorious beauty of Thy name?
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
O make me love Thee more and more.
Jesus, what didst Thou find in me
That Thou hast dealt so lovingly?
How great the joy that Thou hast brought,
So far exceeding hope or thought!
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
O make me love Thee more and more.
Jesus, of Thee shall be my song;
To Thee my heart and soul belong;
All that I have or am is Thine;
And Thou, blest Savior, Thou art mine;
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
O make me love Thee more and more.

Just Like You

A lot of times as teachers, mentors, and even as missionaries we look at the kids we minister to and we become so impatient with their sin. We tend to forget who our kids are looking up to for guidance and how that effects them.  Though their hearts ultimately worship idols of their choice, I am often reminded how the influence of the home and lack of FATHERS plays a huge part in many of the issues our kids face on a day to day basis. A lack of fatherly (godly) influence can have such damaging effects on a child if the Lord does not gracious intervene. The song below hits home for me personally. If Christ does not be the ULTIMATE role model for many of the kids in the hood, I'm afraid their story won't  end to well. I pray many of the absent dads in my hood and over the globe,  MAN UP!

Please pray with me!
