He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind, he lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves those who live justly. The LORD watches over the immigrant and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked. -Psalm 146:7-9

** oh my sweet friends, dont wait till fathers day to tell the men GOD placed you with why you love them..lets strive to tell them and the world , everyday.. look daily for those things to THANK GOD for

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. Ephesians 5:22-30

They don't know...but HE lead them

" Yours is the mighty power and glory and victory and majesty. Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom, We adore you as being in control of everything." - 1 CHRONICLES 29:11 ( TLB version)

You remember the young girl delta and I told you about who had the miscarriage a few weeks ago..Well, I had the most interesting, joyous time with she and her mom yesterday at my house..They asked me if they could come over and hang out with me after they saw me leave the kellys. My prayer to the LORD has been " Father please dont keep them away, bring them to my house so that I may show them Christ love" ..He is so faithful...

God provided me with an opportunity to know them more... kaiya was even able to play with the younger sister ( there are three daughters in all an 8 yr old, "red" who is 16 and the oldest who is 18) and we just enjoyed ourselves..The mom, I dont know if I mentioned before is very young herself..she and the daughters get along very well.. She had her oldest when she was 16 or 17. So it's almost like they are sisters they way the hang out and communicate with each other. I can tell that there is going to be a battle ( as usual) with reaching out to them..It seems everytime they are around, they will hang out, then all of a sudden the mom or daughter will tell me ( or delta) " we will be right back..we are just going to run over to such and such" leaving me ( or delta) with the youngest. This can be frustrating at times, as well as a provocation( wait.. yeaaa I just got deep on ya with the big word.. lol) to righteous ANGER..just because I sense, as I have always seen in the hood.. The lack of care, or concern at times for the kids..
In the hood, some times kids are looked at as burdens, so when you find a family that you can just leave them with, they do so. Not even thinking "wait.. I don't know them, maybe I shouldn't leave my child"

Anyway, we know that the LORD is faithful to the children through all this because he allows them to be left with those who belong to HIM..

Please continue to pray for me as I seek out this mom and her three daughters.. I am again standing in confidence that the LORD is doing something, and that this isnt just another "coinencedence" that this lady and her daughter ended up at my house

"To know God's name is to know God's character. It's to know what He's like. And to know what He's like is to be able to trust Him...
The ability to relinquish your control of your life to God is based on the assurance, the faith, the confidence that He is a trustworthy God, that He can manage the control, not just of your life but of His whole universe, that He can be trusted, He sees all, He knows all, He never makes mistakes, He never fails, to trust that not only does He know what is best for this universe, and not only is He in control of the affairs of this planet, but He loves you and He knows what is best for your life and to have the confidence.: -Nancy Leigh Demoss

1 I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. 3 My enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you. 4 For you have upheld my right and my cause; you have sat on your throne, judging righteously. 5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. 6 Endless ruin has overtaken the enemy, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished. 7 The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. 8 He will judge the world in righteousness; he will govern the peoples with justice. 9 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. 10 Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you

Back from the Dead??

I am often thinking about why does our faith here in america look so different from those believers that are in the East.. I am often reading missionary stories about people coming back alive or about some witch doctor coming to know the LORD

After watching this video.. I am asking my self what type of FAITH did this family have when they prayed for their son to be ok..
what a amazing story about the power of GOD...

This is a story about a young man name Zach Dunlap who was in a 4 wheeler accident..he lost control of his bike and flipped and lost all brain activity..His parents then decided to donate his organs..and then the unthinkable happened...

Watch it Here click on the video entitled "back from the dead"

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see-Hebrews 11:1

What you are listening to:

Ayiesha Woods -What Matters Most

You ask me where does my joy lie
I tell you in all that I do for Christ
You want to know how I am fulfilled
I tell you in doing my Father's will
You think it strange when I tell you
That it's what I live for and die if I have to
There's nothing more satisfying than knowing I'm pleasing
The one who matters most

So if I make you smile
And the words that I sing make you feel better
Then I know that it's all worth while
'Cause nothing completes me more than doing what matters most

Your will is planned ‘til the end of time
How I fit in only you define
The meaning for my existence
I can't deny you - no room for resistance, no
The only one who makes sense of it all
Still trying to understand why my name you've called
But I'm created to praise you
It's what I'm made for and it's what I'll do

So if I make you smile
And the words that I sing make you feel better
Then I know that it's all worth while
'Cause nothing completes me more than doing what matters most

Philippians 4:8-9 for the week

I must confess before all, I am gulity of this... I look at others, ( i just did this morning..) and I define them according to what they have or what they are doing... Here is a quote from my time in the word that the LORD used to convict my sinful heart..I was studying 1 Samuel 1 this morning..looking and meditating again on my attitude towards infertility...

".....By the way, it's interesting in this passage that these women are described just in terms of their childbearing. Peninnah had children, Hannah had none. Isn't it interesting that our culture tends to define us and describe us in those kinds of terms? "She's single, she's married; she has children, she has none; she's a beautiful woman, she's a little bit homely." Socio-economic status--"She comes from a wealthy family; her family doesn't have a lot." Job--"She's an executive; she's in management; she's got an entry-level job." How superficial are the descriptions and the definitions that we use in our culture to determine our worth and our value! The worst thing is how often we believe those superficial definitions and descriptions.
Ladies, it's not whether you're married or single, whether you have many children or no children in the will of God. Whether you have a great-paying job or no job at all, whether you're working at home or working out in the marketplace, it's that season of life for you to be doing that. Those aren't the things that define you. They may define you in the eyes of the culture, but in God's eyes what defines us is our heart.
It's our relationship with Him, our faith, our trust, our surrender to Him. It's the heart issues, and that's why we also need to be careful when we're defining others, that we don't put them in these little boxes and say, "That's who she is," but that we look deeper down into the heart......
We have to come to the place where we realize that God does not owe us an explanation. He is God. And if God wants to give you a husband, bless Him. If God wants to give you children, bless the Lord, and receive children as a gift from God. But if God withholds something that you think is good--and if God gave it, it would be good--but God for a time or permanently withholds it from you, you have to come to the place where you bow before sovereignty, and where you're willing to be content with mystery; to say, "I don't know why, I don't understand why, but I'll live with mystery, because I know that God knows."

Father, as much as it hurts, would you please continue to instill in me the biblical, God fearing, humility bringing response and attitude towards this season of life I am in..help me to embrace YOUR PLAN, YOUR WILL, YOUR TIMING..The truth is you don't give us everything we want..and this is good....Help me to strive to have a heart like Mary (Jesus mom) in which I can say ..."Behold, the bondslave of the LORD; may it be done to me according to your word."-Luke 1

Quote of the Day

"We are not God; we are ignorant. We don't know what will happen tomorrow. God does not tell us what he intends to do tomorrow or five years from now. Evidently God intends for us to live and act in ignorance and in uncertainty about the outcome of our actions.

He says to us, for example, in James 4:13–15,

Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain"; whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that."

You don't know if your heart will stop before this service is over. You don't know if some oncoming driver will swerve out of his lane and hit you head on as you go home. You don't know if the food in the restaurant may have some deadly virus in it. You don't know if a stroke may paralyze you before the week is out. You don't know if some man with a rifle will just start shooting at you at the Southdale Mall. We are not God. We do not know about tomorrow.

And therefore risk is built right into the fabric of our finite lives. You can't avoid risk even if you want to. Ignorance and uncertainty about tomorrow is our native air. All of our plans for tomorrow's activities can be shattered by a thousand unknowns whether we stay at home under the covers or ride the freeways.

... Safety
it's a mirage. It doesn't exist. Every direction you turn there are unknowns and things beyond your control.

And the tragedy is that in the deceptive enchantment of security (where we take risks for ourselves everyday without knowing it!) we are paralyzed to take any risks for the cause of God, because we are deluded and think it may jeopardize a security which in fact does not even exist."--JOHN PIPER

Grace, Grace, Grace

"All the grace Paul has in mind when he blesses the Christians at the beginning and end of all his letters is future grace.
This is the title I am proposing for the book: "Living by Faith in Future Grace." I'll have lots more to say about this in the BITC. But let me just stress the obvious here. When you wish something on someone, you are wishing it on them for the future—meaning the period of time that starts now.
If I say, "Grace to you, from God," I mean, "Starting now." If I say, "Grace be with you," I mean, "Starting now." Not that you haven't known grace in the past, or haven't experienced it right up to this moment. But the blessing is for the future. May God do something gracious now. May God go on being gracious to you, starting now. Therefore the grace in Paul's mind is not the grace of the past, but the grace of the future.
The death and resurrection of Jesus were great works of grace. Your effectual calling and new birth and faith and repentance and justification were all great past works of grace, if you are a Christian. But that is not what he is wishing for you. He is wishing for something new, for something continued. Grace upon grace. More grace.
The heart of the book, and I believe the heart of the biblical teaching about living the Christian life, is that to live as a Christian we need to believe in this future grace. We need to be confident of it, and bank on it, and trust in it, and be satisfied by it, if we are going to know the power and freedom and joy that can obey the radical commands of Jesus to live differently from the world."
-JOHN PIPER on Future Grace

Talk about power, Freedom, and joy.. I believe with all my being the LORD has went before me and provided me with the future grace I need to live in this neighborhood. Often I am asked "How has it been living there"? or "How is Kaiya doing"?...
to answer those questions, I am doing great. you know... there are challenges from time to time, that may tempt me to be fearful or worried.. But it's like the moment I begin to go down the road and entertain those thoughts, its like the Lord immediately remove them from my mind.. I am glad I am writing this because it's helping me to recall the goodness of the LORD. I never thought that when we finally moved here that I would have peace.. I did'n think that I would want to sleep in my bed alone while my hubbie is out..I definitely didn't think that I would let our Kaiya play alone on the front porch or front yard with her toys.. (Some of you may be gasping for air at this point and thinking, " oh, my that's not using wisdom to let her play like that in a neighborhood full of strangers..".. I can assure you she will be ok...safety is not based on where you live, the same things that happen here; if the LORD permits, could happen in your neighborhood as well)

Yesterday, as I was sitting in the living room folding laundry, I could see her somewhat and hear her yelling to the many wonderers and neighbors in the community as they walked pass our home..." HEY NEIGHBOR!!! HOW ARE YA!!! YOU DOIN' GOOD TODAAAYY!!!

God sent us here as a family..to love, and to live. My prayer was to move here and to be a part of the community in all respects. Sure, I know we stand out from many, but I didn't want us to stand out due to fear, or a attitude that says, " I am better than you, you need me".
It was God's amazing grace that has carried me this far and that will continue to so in the future
Piper says in his book Future Grace :....." grace is not only a past experience of pardon, it is a future experience of power to do what God commands us to do. This is why gratitude for past grace is not the fuel for today's obedience. You can't run your car on gratitude for yesterday's gas. You need today's gas for today's trip. You need today's grace for today's obedience. And the pump is not gratitude but faith in future grace"

aghh...well said :)

The Overflow of Easter-Pastor John Piper

A Whole Theology of Resurrection in One Chapter
April 25, 20

1 Corinthians 15

1. Christ died for us and rose again.

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and . . . He was buried, and . . . He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. (3-4)

2. He verified his resurrection by large public appearances.

After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep. (6)

3. Because Christ has risen, we are not still in our sins.

If Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. (17)

4. Because Christ has risen, our afflicted lives are not pitiable.

If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. (19)

5. We who trust Christ will be raised from the dead at Christ's second coming.

For as in Adam all [his posterity] die, so also in Christ all will [his posterity] be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming. (22-23)

6. Christ now reigns invincibly over the universe.

For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. (25-26)

7. Our resurrection body will be imperishable, glorious, powerful, and spiritual.

[Our resurrection body] is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. (42-44)

8. Living or dead, we shall be given new bodies in an instant at Christ's coming.

Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. (51-52)

9. Death now has no sting and will be swallowed up in victory.

But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory. Death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" (54-55)

10. Christ suffered for sin and satisfied the law for us.

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (56-57)

11. Therefore, do huge amounts of Christ-exalting work because none of it is in vain.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. (58

Quote of the Day

"You’ll never experience all that there is to know of God until you have found yourself in a place of drought, in a place of desperation, in a place where you think you’re drowning. In the midst of those most desperate circumstances, you’ll be driven . . . In that little boat of yours on that overwhelming sea, you’ll be driven to the place that is your only true hope, and that is God."-Nancy Leigh Demoss

Psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and 6 my God.
My [c] soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
"Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?"

10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

Trying not to grow weary while doing good

"this battle for biblical womanhood is nothing new. It is simply the reclaiming of what has been and always will be. But reclaim we must—for the glory of our sovereign king and the advancement of his Kingdom.”-Susan Hunt

Encouraged, Drained, burdensome, hopeful, sad, anxious..These are just a few emotions I am feeling at this moment.
Have you ever had to stand for TRUTH and was afraid?, ..Your mouth feels so dry, and you have beads of sweat tickling down your noise, you head aches so bad that you are capable of only looking out of one eye...

I am not a theologian, I am not a pastor, I have no seminary training, I fight daily to sit a Jesus feet every morning, I struggle and strive to love my husband and child, I dont speak with eloquent speech or big words.. I am not wealthy, and I dont have a college degree..
But I love the LORD JESUS CHRIST, I LOVE studying His word, I LOVE talking about it minute upon minute, I LOVE sharing about HIs godness with all that I meet, I LOVE being around new, young and older brothers and sisters in the faith.. I love hearing and talking to my husband about what the LORD is doing in his life. I love laying in the bed with my daughter and discussing God's word and how she can apply it to her everyday situations at school and at home.
As of now, I see the LORD has given me a heart to stand...to stand up to the lies of the culture, to be bold, to be compassionate, so be confident that I am doing what is right.. I am fighting.. I am fighting for God's glory, I am fighting for the sake of the gospel, I am fighting for the generations to come so that the legacy continues and that GOD's name will live on!! This fight that I am fighting is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms..
This fight is for biblical womanhood and against the Feminist Movement and all its effects on God's kingdom

I know I am at risk of losing friends, & family.. I am at risk of damaging alot of relationships.. I am sad about that...But that is ok.. I count it as a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and that others may as well

Quotes of the Day

A very Sweet sister in the LORD whom I met some years ago sent me these quotes. I get goose bumps when I hear from her..
I have never told her this but, in the short hours I spent in her home getting to know she and her family, has made such a huge impact on me and my walk with the LORD..I left her house that day more in love with God's word and His providential care over me. In addition, I left there with an even greater desire to pursue biblical counseling(nouthetic)

Anyway, I thought you all would be encouraged by these quotes as much as I have ..I pray they spur you on

I just want to say thank you to everyone that I know, those I have come to know, as well as, those of you that I havent met that take the time to read and pray for me..I am so glad, really, glad in our savior for His church

Spurgeon & Amy Carmichael quotes to ponde

“You must take the city of heaven by storm if you would have it at all. You will not ride to heaven on a feather bed. You must go on a pilgrimage. There is no going to the land of glory while you are sound asleep. Dreaming sluggards will wake up in hell.” Charles Spurgeon

“We will have all of eternity to celebrate the victories and only a few hours before sunset in which to win them.” Amy Carmichael

Philippians 4:8-9 for the week

Heidelberg Catechism Q 27 : What do you mean by the providence of God? Answer: The almighty and everywhere present power of God, wherby, as it were by His hand, he stills upholds heaven, earth, and all creatures, and so governs them that herbs and grass, rain, and drought, fruitful and barren years, food, and drink, health and sickness, riches and poverty, yea, all things, come not by chance but by His fatherly hand

Heidelberg Catechism Q 28: What does it profit us to know that God has created, and by His providence still upholds, all things?
Answer: That we may be patient in adversity, thankful in prosperity, and with a view to the future may have a good confidence in our faithful God and Father that no creature shall seperate us from His love, since all creatures are so in His hand that without His will they cannot so much as move.

Romans 5:3-5
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Fighting to take my thoughts captive

Well, here I am again, having to fight off the lies about why the Lord has not blessed us with more children..
Please pray for me, I am not having a good night..I am so convicted for one over the complaining I have been doing as a mom. I feel like, because I struggle so much in my parenting, that's the reason the Lord haven't blessed us with more.. But then I stumble across an article about a woman with 11 kids and I am encouraged in thinking, " what is she doing??" ..."and why don't I have that many'?? A lot of times I really do believe that those woman that have more than one child are the ones that are blessed and highly favored...they are the ones with the good heart in being a mom..they have so much more to offer the kingdom when it comes to raising kids..
please know I am not trying to have a pity party, nor am I looking for the" girl you know I dont have it together" answers..

I just want be content, and remember that it is nothing that I am doing wrong or that I have done.. I know, I am not really barren, I do have one, but, I cant help that it still hurts... I know sometimes, this is from a selfish heart, not seriously wanting more so that God's kingdom comes here on earth through the discipleship of these godly seeds..and thats not good

would you pray that I remember and understand that nothing can satisfy the human heart EXCEPT the ONE who CREATED it
aghh!!! I hope I never have another night like this..but.... all the days ordained for me are written in his book right???? yes, that's right....

"Greed has two daughters, Their names are "Give me, Give me"
There are three things that are never satisfied,
There are really four that never say, " I've had enough!"
These things are the cementary, the childless mother, and the land that never gets enough rain, and fire that never says," I've had enough" -Prov. 30:15-16 (International Childrens Bible Translation)

The Lord says, "Your thoughts are not like my thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways higher than your ways. And my thoughts are higher than your thoughts"
Isaiah 55:8-9

Fighting the war against unbelief,

"The Lord is my light and salvation - whom shall I fear?" (v.1)

In a world that is held
in such deep darkness
where the light of truth
often seems more of a flicker
than a flame,
in a world where
and foolishness
divert and distort
the lives of so many,
in times when a myriad
say so
about so many things,
where confusion seems
readily available
and clarity seems
hard to find,
in a world where opinions
rise to a place
where only truth should be,
and every voice
seems to get an equal hearing,
in the constant cacophony
of ten thousand
contradictory voices,
it is a wonderful
and amazing thing
to be able to say
with rest and confidence,
The Lord is my Light!
My heart has been lit
by the illuminating
and protective glory
of His
powerful and transforming grace,
my mind has been renewed
by the luminescent presence
of His truth-guiding
Holy Spirit,
and my life has been guided
down straight paths
by the ever-shining lamp
of His Word.
I am not afraid,
but it is not because
I am strong
or wise.
I am not afraid,
but it is not because
I have power
or position.
I am not afraid,
but it is not because
I have health
or wealth.
I am not afraid;
but it is not because
my circumstances
or relationships
are easy.
I am not afraid
for one glorious reason;
I have been lit by the
Lord of Light.
In the darkness
of this fallen world,
I no longer walk
in the night,
but I have been given
the Light of Life.
I am not afraid
because Light lives in me.
This one amazing reality
gives me rest;
I have been rescued from
and transported into the
and I am not afraid.

My Meditations for Anxiety pt2

clearly I can't sleep....it's 12:25 am and I am anxious about this storm that is headed our way...what in the world, can a sista get some rest..I hear ya LORD
Here is what I read.........

Isaiah 41:1-13

"Coastlands, listen to Me in silence, And let the peoples gain new strength; Let them come forward, then let them speak; let us come together for judgment. Who has aroused one from the east whom He calls in righteousness to His feet? He delivers up nations before him, and subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, as the wind-driven chaff with his bow. He pursues them, passing on in safety, by a way he had not been traversing with his feet. Who has performed and accomplished it, calling forth the generations from the beginning? 'I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.'" The coastlands have seen and are afraid; the ends of the earth tremble; they have drawn near and have come. Each one helps his neighbor, and says to his brother, "Be strong!" So the craftsman encourages the smelter, and he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, saying of the soldering, "It is good"; and he fastens it with nails, that it should not totter. "But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, descendant of Abraham My friend, you whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its remotest parts, and said to you, 'You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you.' Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing, and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them, those who war with you will be as nothing, and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'"

"Let's look at the verse, Isaiah 41:10, and then see how the preceding verses intensify the point of the verse.

There are two commands in the verse not to fear and five pillars of fearlessness. "Fear not" is the first command at the beginning of the verse. And then the second is "do not anxiously look about you" (RSV: "do not be dismayed").

As always in the Bible, there are reasons for the commands. Commands don't hang in the air with no basis in reality. If God commands us to do something, there are good reasons to do it. And power comes from understanding and believing those reasons.

Here there are the five reasons—call them.

The Five Pillars of Fearlessness

"For I am with you"—"Do not fear, for I am with you."
"I am your God"—"Do not look anxiously about you, for I am your God."
"I will strengthen you."
"Surely I will help you."
"Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
Restated, the five pillars of fearlessness are:

God is with me;
God is my God;
God will strengthen me;
God will help me;
God will uphold me.
When God calls you to be free from fear as you do evangelism, as you take a test, as you face an interview, as you take a stand against an unjust business practice, as you confront someone with sin in their life, when you leave a secure position and take a risk in a new venture, when you face an operation or a treatment, when you lose a spouse or a friend—when God calls you to be free from fear (to overcome this natural emotion and have peace), he does not leave the command hanging in the air. He puts pillars under it. Five of them. That's the nature of all biblical commands. They come with divine support.

Fear not . . . God is with you;
Fear not . . . God is your God;
Fear not . . . God will strengthen you;
Fear not . . . God will help you;
Fear not . . . God will uphold you.
The Key to Overcoming Fear

The key to overcoming fear is resting on the pillars of the promises of God.

We'll come back to these pillars in a moment. Look with me for a minute at the verses leading up to verse 10 to see how they intensify these promises and strengthen these pillars.

If the key to fearlessness is believing that God is your God and is with you and will strengthen you and help you and uphold you, then knowing the greatness of this God will intensify your faith and your fearlessness."

--John Piper ( of course) :)

My Meditations for Anxiety

thank you for all of your prayers for me... My heart is FIGHTING to kill this area of sin

5. Let us celebrate that God is sovereign over Satan’s hand in natural disasters.

Hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, earthquakes, blistering heat, deadly cold, drought, flood, famine. When Satan approached God in the first chapter of Job, he challenged God in verse 11, “Stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.” And then the Lord said to Satan (in verse 12), “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.”

The result was two human atrocities and two natural disasters. One of the disasters is reported to Job in verse 16: “The fire of God fell from heaven [probably lightning] and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.” And then the worst report of all in verses 18-19, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother's house, and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead.”

Even though God had loosened the leash of Satan to do this, that is not what Job focused on. “Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. And he said, ‘Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord’” (Job 1:20-21). And the inspired writer added: “In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.”

Job had discovered with many of you that it is small comfort to focus on the freedom of Satan to destroy. In the academic classroom and in the apologetics discussion, the agency of Satan in our suffering may lift a little the burden of God’s sovereignty for some, but for others, like Job, there is more security and more relief and more hope and more support and more glorious truth in despising Satan’s hateful hand and looking straight past him to God for the cause and for his mercy.

Elihu helped Job see this mercy in Job 37:10-14. He said:

By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast. He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning. They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world. Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen. Hear this, O Job; stop and consider the wondrous works of God.

Job’s first impulses in chapter one were exactly right. When James wrote in the New Testament about the purpose of the book of Job, this is what he said, “You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful” (James 5:11).

God, not Satan, is the final ruler of wind—and the waves. Jesus woke from sleep and, with absolute sovereignty, which he had from all eternity and has this very moment, said, “‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39; see Psalm 135:5-7; 148:7). Satan is real and terrible. All his designs are hateful. But he is not sovereign. God is. And when Satan went out to do Job harm, Job was right to worship with the words “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

There’s not a plant or flower below,
But makes Thy glories known;
And clouds arise, and tempests blow,
By order from Thy throne.
(“I Sing the Mighty Power of God,” Isaac

Quote of the Day

yup...the LORD knows what I need to hear.....I am so serious when it comes to parenting.. i pray i find that biblical, God fearing, peaceful balance...let me go ask Him :)

“Amidst the ebb and flow of our lives as mothers, it is all too easy to get caught up in the serious side of our walk with God. We have so much to teach our children: moral standards, an understanding of God’s character, Bible stories, manners – the list goes on and on. Yes, there is a battle for our children’s souls. Yes, there are habits of godly character we need to form in them. Yes, there is so much work to be done; we have to realize that there is something much more important to the Lord. God wants us to enjoy Him, His creation, and His love. He wants us to lead our children into celebrating life with Him and taking time to notice the beauty He has provided each and every day. He wants us to revel in His goodness and love
”-- Sally Clarkson

Final reminder from me: What is the chief end of man??? Come on let's say it together........ TO GLORIFY GOD AND ENJOY HIM FOREVER!! Amen

Earlier today I talked to the friend of the young girl who had fallen out in delta's bathroom. She advised me that everything was ok and that her friend was at home. She also confirmed that she had indeed suffered a miscarriage and that they had to perform an D&C upon this little girl......She told me that they were going to be over in our neighborhood today and that they wanted to come by. Delta and I pulled up from taking the kids to the park and the two girls were sitting in chairs conversing as the mom played basketball with some of the neighborhood kids as if nothing had ever happened....... but my heart knew otherwise

You know, I, of course you know believe that the LORD is in control of timing...and I do believe that the LORD brings people into our homes as He pleases...But I have a strong convection to stay in contact with these girls...I just cant sit at home and say, "well LORD, if you bring them I will make the most of the opportunity, but, I am not chasing them, because i have other things to worry about" ( please dont think that for one minute that I am saying its something wrong with those who don't pursue relationships because of their responsibilities at home) I am just trying to communicate what the LORD is doing in my heart....

As I looked at the girls today, all I could think about was PURSUE, PURSUE...God in His faithfulness, patience, steadfast love continues to pursue me as if i am His only girl... AND will continue to PURSUE me as I repent of sin....so, why dont i show the LOVE of Jesus to these little ones( including my own) by pursuing a loving relationship with them..As I sit here and type this, i cant help but think.".Father, there are so many hurting in our neighborhood, on our block, right next door..." Of course, I know I am not Jesus, and I am not trying to have 12 disciples..I just want the LORD to use me for His glory so that these TWO may be saved.. I wonder if this is how paul was feeling about the church in Thessalonica when he said...

and oh how dear to me they are...please pray that I not only share the gospel with these girls BU, that I share as well my life ( my soul)
Would you pray as well for kaiya in that as she continues to get older that the LORD would give her a heavy burden for a lost
